Paul’s Arabian Adventure…

Five star service, fabulous weather and plenty of world class restaurants, Dubai has become an increasingly popular destination.

Our very own Leisure Manager, Paul Thomas was lucky enough to visit Dubai with Lusso Travel to view some of the best properties in the country.  Take a look at Paul’s ‘Highlights of Dubai’ account below which will give you great ideas for accommodation and a travel expert’s view on a must visit  destination.

‘’We arrived at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel very early morning- a stunning property that I would recommend when staying in Dubai.  The hotel has a range of facilities, sea view rooms perfect for families or couples. The property is a little isolated at the edge of the Palm so an ideal hotel for those looking for some tranquillity.  The Waldorf hosted a fantastic Friday brunch at their Mezzerie Restaurant which I would also recommend.

One of my favourite hotels  is the Four Seasons Jumeirah Beach Hotel where the rooms are spacious, comfortable and luxurious. The hotel blends Arabic design with cool, contemporary style and offers views of the Arabian Gulf on one side and the Burj Khalifa on the other. This five star property is home to 10 restaurants and lounges, one of the city’s most lavish spas, three swimming pools and personalised service.

Not only is Dubai an ideal location to relax and unwind but also a destination with plenty to see and do. During my trip, I experienced Dubai by air, a desert safari with an overnight experience at the Banyan Tree Al Wadi. The desert safari included a drive across the dunes and a chance to watch the beautiful sunset followed by an Arabian BBQ dinner under the stars, surrounded by desert. This unique experience also includes a Falcon Show, camel riding and there is a great children’s club on site.

The Banyan Tree Al Wadi has a variety of pool villas with spacious rooms and walk in wardrobes. I was lucky enough to try the rainforest experience at the hotel spa followed by relaxing in my private pool. I would recommend this hotel to couples planning their honeymoon if they are looking something a bit different.

Dubai hosts a range of excellent restaurants. The well-known Friday brunch can be found at every luxury hotel which includes a huge range of different cuisines and plenty of drinks. A personal favourite of mine for dining is the Eauzone restaurant at the One& Only Resort. A must try for those who are looking for delicious seafood.

I personally really enjoyed Dubai as a destination and would certainly return for a holiday.

The service levels are some of the highest I have ever experienced at the hotels and Dubai is a very safe country and ideal for families with young children.  The best time to travel would be September- April”.
