Five winter getaways you can book right now

Searching for some holiday inspiration for the cooler months? Head this way for our round up of five winter getaways you can book right now; you’ll be reaching for your suitcase and hopping on a plane in no time.

Greece

Do I have to quarantine?

No, people from England do not have to quarantine upon arrival to or from Greece. From 4am 25 October, you can travel to all of Greece as Mykonos joins the rest of the wonderful islands on our travel corridor list.

What will the weather be like?

In November you can expect temperatures of between 17 – 20°C through the day, although this drops to 10 – 15 °C as we move towards December and January.

If you want to make the most of some winter sunshine, Crete in November will offer up some of the better weather – plus, it will be warmer and drier than England!

What do you recommend?

We love a visit to Crete, especially in the cooler months. One of our favourite tried and tested hotels is Elounda Beach Hotel & Villas, which offers accommodation from ‘luxury’ through to ‘platinum.’ With features and services ranging from plush sea-view rooms and suites through to private villas complete with private jet access and private dining, there’s something for everyone.

If you’re looking for something to do, visiting the ruins on the island of Spinalonga is a must.

Greece

Sweden

Do I have to quarantine?

No, you can currently travel to and from Sweden without the need for quarantine.

What will the weather be like?

If you’re looking to wrap up warm while taking in some new sights, Sweden might be just the place for you. With Stockholm experiencing highs of 6°C in November and dropping to lows of -3°C by January, pack your extra layers!

What do you recommend?

Discover a winter wonderland by heading to Jukkasjärvi, home to Icehotel – a masterpiece in sustainable design, with features of the hotel recrafted each year using ice from the local River Torne.

Fancy it? Get in touch here to ask about our 3-night package with the full Icehotel experience from £945pp (based on two adults sharing, two nights will be in warm accommodation and one night in cold).

If you’re lucky, you might just glimpse the elusive Northern Lights too!

You don’t have to quarantine, but anyone (other than under 12s) travelling from England must provide a negative COVID-19 test*, taken 72 hours prior to travel.

What will the weather be like?

With temperatures reaching 20°C in November, Cyprus is often a go-to choice for anyone looking to escape the English drizzle in the winter months.

What do you recommend?

If a hillside retreat sounds good to you, then 5* luxury hotel, Anassa is top of our list. Relax in the spa, enjoy delicious seasonal dining and escape to a completely secluded hideaway.
